About the Club
Built in 1936 by local miners and mill workers as their village social club, Astley Community Club has been at the heart of community life ever since. What started as a gathering place for working families has grown into a friendly, family friendly venue where people of all ages come together for live entertainment, community events, and a proper Saturday night out.
Located on Manchester Road, we’re just minutes from Tyldesley, Atherton and Leigh — making us one of the most welcoming community venues in Greater Manchester. Whether you’re looking for things to do in Astley, a function room for a private party, or simply a relaxed evening with friends, there’s something for everyone here.
Our event space and meeting room are available to hire for any occasion — from christenings and baby showers to birthday parties, funeral wakes, family gatherings and summer BBQs. The Committee
Astley Community Club is run entirely by a dedicated team of local volunteers who give their time to keep the club thriving. From organising events and managing the bar to maintaining the building and welcoming new members, our committee works behind the scenes to make sure there’s always something going on.
We’re always looking for fresh faces to join us. Whether you can spare an hour a week or want to take on a bigger role, there’s a place for you. No experience needed — just enthusiasm and a love for the local community.

Our ladies darts squad bring sharp aim and even sharper banter every match night. Whether you're a seasoned scorer or just starting out, come and throw with the best.

Fundraising at the Club
As a volunteer-run club we rely on fundraising to keep going. Whether you’ve got an idea of your own or want to use one of ours, we’ll provide the venue, the bar and the audience — you bring the energy.
Quiz Nights
Host a themed quiz with rounds, a raffle and a fish-and-chip supper. Always a crowd-pleaser.
Race Nights
Pick your horse, place your bets and cheer them home. Great fun with a big-screen setup.
Bingo Evenings
Eyes down for a full house. Low overheads, big atmosphere and everyone loves a dabber.
Craft Fairs & Markets
Local sellers, homemade goods and a buzzing atmosphere. Table fees go straight to the club.

Live acts, karaoke or open-mic nights where the door take supports your chosen cause.

Afternoon Social Bingo
Monthly — Thursday afternoons
A relaxed afternoon session with prizes, refreshments and plenty of laughs. Perfect for those who prefer a daytime get-together.
Afternoon Singer Sessions
Monthly — Thursday & Sunday afternoons
Live singing in a cosy afternoon setting. Sing along or just sit back and enjoy the entertainment with a drink.
Kings Independent Church

We are proud to be the home of Kings Independent Church. Services are held every Sunday morning and everyone is welcome to attend.
Tyldesley Brass Band
Every Tuesday & Thursday evening
Our club is the rehearsal home of Tyldesley Brass Band, who practise here twice a week. Pop in and listen or ask about joining.
